I am a retired special education teacher and an adjunct instructor for Furman University where I teach courses to teachers who are getting their Master's degree in Special Education. I also serve on the national board of directors for Council for Exceptional Children. I promised my husband that we could travel for a few years while we were young enough and healthy enough to travel and then later I would return to teaching in the classroom. We figured out a way for me to stay connected on the computer even when we are traveling, so I don't feel so far removed from the education field. Then I found out that I could stay connected with classrooms and educators through blogging, twitter, wikis, voicethreads, nings, collaborative projects, and bunches of other tools I never knew about. I'm learning something new every day and I love it! I am hoping to keep up with current trends and learn innovative tools so I could be a resource for other teachers (locally, state-wide and for members of Council for Exceptional Children all over the world).
