Your role in Horizon Project
I'm a student in the Glenbrook Academy. I don't know yet what group I'll be assigned to.
School and Country
Glenbrook North High School (Northbrook, IL, U.S.)
About Me:
Hey! I’m Kate. I’m a freshman and I live in the Chicagoland area. I love writing, reading, and drawing in my free time, although I don’t have much time for either now that high school has started. I also play percussion in my school band. I really like learning about the world and its cultures, and my favorite place is Rome, Italy. Music is an important part of my life, and I listen to it constantly. Some of my favorite artists are Goo Goo Dolls, Jaymay, Sara Bareilles, and Leona Lewis. I love animals, but I’m not very outdoorsy. I usually come across as shy, but trust me, I love people, and I can be loud, too! I live with my parents, older brother, and dog. I’m 5’8” and I hate being tall! Academically, I suppose my strengths are being a hard worker and a creative thinker. I’m also very passionate about subjects I care about.

So what I understood our topic to be was about new technologies that are being developed whose goals are to connect more people to the internet-a type of networking. I've marked some pages on delicious about OLPC and mesh networking which are examples of such technologies so feel free to check those out if you like. After this reading I thought it would be a good idea to have these new technologies sever as a typo of backbone for our trend and then we can talk about the developments in the different areas that have occurred as a direct result of these new technologies-so I don't think social networking should be a main focus on the main page-I think it belongs on the arts entertainment and leisure sub wiki. What do you think? Oh and by the way my teachers have told me that we should move our discussions to the actual discussion tap apart of the wiki page so that our collaboration isn't as scattered-so if you could respond to my absurdly long comment on the discussion tab that would be great
-thanks,
Des.

Hey Kate,
So our sub wiki needs a lot of work and I thought it would be easier to get started it we all had a position-these are some of them straight from the wiki-Is there are particular position that catches your interest?
"Note on Responsibilities: If you have created certain responsibilities for each member, spell them out here. i.e. You may want to "elect" a sub-wiki team captain, or a Lead Graphic Designer, or another to be "lead researcher" / citation person. This is optional, however it is highly recommended that you "elect" a team captain or co-captains. You are self organizing at the subgroup level. Your Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager for your entire team will be responsible to handle any disputes that may arise. YOU MUST ELECT AN EDITOR"
P.S.-if there are no one else minds I'd like to be a sub wiki captain or team captain
