About Me:
I'm an English instructor, ICT teacher, and foreign affairs officer at Kyoto Gakuen High School in Japan. Originally, I am from Modesto, CA which is about an hour east of San Francisco. I spent 5 years at UC San Diego, and upon graduating, lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil for almost a year. My interest in foreign countries led me to Kyoto, Japan where I have worked for the past three years. I'm still new to the Horizon Project, but I can say that I'm very enthusiastic about finding ways to use technology in any form to help students better understand and participate in the global community. This project fits very nicely into what our school is trying to achieve with our International Course students, and we have a capable staff ready to meet the challenge.

Thank-you for leaving a comment on my part of the wikispace, I am happy to know that people are reading it already. Actually, someone in my class was telling me about the movie Stealth and that sparked the idea of automated warfare for my subject. I have not actually seen the movie but might for brainstorming soon (as you mentioned). I remember reading something about the airplane in the movie being based of a real one the United States created... definitely makes me want to know more. Thanks again!

Thanks Chris, that is a great article and I think that my group can benefit greatly from it. What group are you in?

I was playing with Google Earth last night and thought I'd find the places we are collaborating with through this project. Do you have any great tutorials for Google Earth that you'd share with me? During my search, I found a website that caught my attention and was wondering if you are the creator of that project? Pretty cool stuff. :) http://pacificrimx.wordpress.com/2007/10/21/kyoto-visit-to-modesto/.

Hi Chris! I'm from Goodland High School in Goodland, Kansas, which is in the Northwest corner of the state. I am a Media Specialist by trade and this is my first experience with the Horizon Project. I am looking forward to learning new things with technology and about other places.

Chris,

Hey there, from Verona Area High School in Wisconsin. As I am writing this email I am listening to your music. Did your students produce this? I am in the process of having my Global Issues class create a PSA (public service announcement) on Nuclear Proliferation. Many are incorporating some really cool music which only adds to the seriousness of their message.
Let's talk about doing a joint project...
