Grassroots video is video content created by unknown people. These videographers are normal people who usually create videos with the help of only their own personal cameras. In earlier times, it was very hard for these people to get their work notice and seen by the general public. They used to have to use very inefficient and difficult methods to have their work seen; methods such as standing on the street and handing out their videos or transporting them and showing the videos out of their cars.
Now viral video and several other popular vide-sharing website have made it a lot easier for these videographers to have their work seen by the mainstream public. Now all theses people have to do is simply upload their video onto a video-sharing website such as Youtube, or Veoh and then their video is now accessible to the whole world. This new exposure has lead for many of these grassroots videographers to be noticed by major companies. An example of this is in the case of Youtube star Esmee Denters whose Youtube videos of her singing has gained her over 21 million viewers and also lead her into a record deal. International superstar Justin Timberlake has just recently signed Esmee to his Tennman Records.
